DESIGN TIPS & F.A.Q SECTION
F.A.Q.'s

Q: What is your turn around time?

A: The turn around time is 10 - 15 business days (or sooner) on all CD/DVD packages. Please note that this does not include time in transit. If you are looking to have the CDs in hand by a certain date please let us know! We are highly accustom to doing rush orders. Of course minimal rush charges may apply. Also Day 1 or your project begins the day AFTER payment and artwork are received.

Q: Do you offer barcodes?

A: No. We looked into it and since we're not a replication company and since only one out of every 50 clients asks for a barcode, we do not offer barcodes. If you are looking for a barcode you can simply purchase one youself online from $25 - $35, drop it into your layout and we'll print it. We'd end up charging you more for a barcode anyway since we have to pay a huge fee to offer barcodes, so this works out best for everyone!

Q: Can you print 500 QTY of __________ ?

A: Depends on what you fill in the blank space with. If you say a package that is standard (example: 4 panel insert in standard jewel case), then the answer is "Yes we can, but you are better off getting them replicated for the price it would cost you to get them duplicated." However, if you say a package that is custom (i.e. a silk screened 4 panel eco pack with a spot color metallic 2 panel insert), then the answer is, "Yes we can. Chances are none of the larger companies can do this for you, so we'll work to get you the best price possible because we love doing custom jobs!"

Q: If I am looking to place multiple (concurrent) orders, can I get a discount?

A: More than likely less. It will depend on the quantity of each order. Please e-mail or call us to chat.

DESIGN TIPS

WHAT IS BLEED?

"Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet after trimming. The bleed is the part on the side of your document that gives the printer that small amount of space to move around paper and design inconsistencies." - Wikipedia.

It's an 1/8" or more area around the outside of the printed edge.

CD Face:

The red circles on the templates are meant to act as guides. The design you submit should go completely through the center and extend at least 1/8" beyond the outer ring. We get way too many designs that go just up to the red circles and not beyond. We will send it back if you do not leave any bleed and this may delay your project.

Standard Panel Inserts:

It is a bad idea to have text on the text cut off area line. Please have it within the confines of the line and not directly on the line. We can't stress bleed enough, please have bleed in the appropriate areas!

Traycard Insert:

The traycard insert is the printed piece that goes behind your CD tray. It shows on the outside back of your finished product. Please make sure that your spine text is within the colored boundary otherwise there is a chance some of it might be cut off. Even text extending to the very edge of the boundary has a chance of getting a portion cut off.

Eco Packs:

Due to curring methods and the recycled chipboard properties, the registration on multicolor silk screened packaging will not be 100% exact. This means that if you want a particular color to lay on top of another color the variation from one print to the next might be around 1/8". The recycled chipboard tends to shrink a little after the first color is printed..

The brown kraft base color is approximately the color of a brown paper bag from the grocery store. If you would like to cover this up then please ask for the FLOOD screen.

There is room for spine text! Feel free to take advantage of this area.

Gocco Prints:

Method of print is a single pass silk screen stamp. Each print varies slightly from the next making them unique. There must be at least 1/4" separation from one color to the next to prevent bleeding.

PMS Color Matching:

We can not do PMS color matches on any printed product at this time. PMS color matches on shirts is available at an additional cost that also requires a longer turn time.
